You should complete the following tasks before you begin classes. Select each task to view instructions.

  1. Activate Your Net ID: Access to many of Syracuse University’s computing services—including MySlice, computing labs, the campus wireless network, software downloads, and e-mail accounts—is controlled through your NetID and password. Before attempting to use any of those services, you must activate your NetID by following the instructions below. If you have not already activated your NetID, please navigate to https://selfserv.syr.edu/selfserv/home or follow the instructions on this page.
  1. Set Up Your SU E-mail: You will receive all official communication through your SU e-mail address.

  1. Connect with Student Success: You will receive a Welcome Email from the Student Success Team within two business days of enrollment. This e-mail will go over the basics for getting started.
  1. Transfer of Credit Process: If you have any courses you believe may count towards the overall program credit requirements, start this process as soon as possible.
  1. Get to Know the Digital Campus: Once you log in, the Student Success Course outlines important programmatic information, resources, and technical information in order to best prepare you for your first week of classes.
  1. Purchase Course Materials: Visit the SU Bookstore to order course materials and grab your Orange swag!
  1. Order Your Syracuse Student ID: You’ll use your SU Student ID to receive student discounts and to identify yourself when interacting with University resources.
