Connect With Student Success
Student Success is your first point of contact for help navigating the program and answering any questions you have. This process starts with a one-on-one welcome call with your Student Success Advisor, who will help guide you through your next steps as a student at the College of Engineering and Computer Science. During this call, you will go over the basics for getting started and get an overview of the orientation process.
If you have questions or need assistance, please reach out to Student Success at 855.797.4364 or email us.

Complete the Orientation Process
After your welcome call, your Student Success Advisor will work with you through the orientation process to ensure that you have everything you need before you start classes.
Some elements of the orientation process are Student Success program expectations and time management calls. These 20- to 30-minute sessions are designed to explore your personal and professional schedule, along with what you want to get out of your experience with the Engineering@Syracuse program. The individualized time with your advisor will help you to identify strategies for your success, and how to best make the program fit into your life.
What to Expect
You will also attend a program expectations and systems overview session that’s tailored for all new students. This training will be held in a Zoom classroom by a Student Success Advisor and is designed to ensure you have a clear understanding of the expectations of the program and technology before attending your first live class session. Please contact your Student Success Advisor to set up this training session as soon as possible.
In the program expectations and systems overview session, you will learn more about:
- the role of Student Success;
- available resources throughout the program;
- course sequence and program expectations;
- the three university interfaces;
- what to expect prior to your first day of classes; and
- technology requirements, basics and best practices.
2SU Orientation
It is important to complete the orientation course on the 2SU platform, our virtual campus. This will provide a deep dive into Syracuse University policies and resources available to you as a student. Some examples of topics covered include:
- the Writing Center,
- immersion expectations,
- graduation requirements,
- university information, and
- navigating Myslice.
Virtual Career Center
Students are encouraged to explore the Virtual Career Center and connect with a career coach before the term begins. Completing the coursework in the Virtual Career Center will give you a kick-start to navigating how you can capitalize on your degree. This resource provides insights into:
- conducting a job search,
- professional profile development,
- resume updates,
- cover letter navigation,
- networking opportunities,
- interviewing tips, and
- social media presence.
